I love brunches on a sunny weather!

It's been awhile since I've checked out a new cafe for a saturday brunch and this weekend a couple from church introduced us to a cafe along Crown Street in Surry hills which is known for their cafe cultures and alternative lifestyle too.

We were suppose to go to this other cafe but it was closed so we chose one of the many along the road and ended up in lemon twist cafe. This cafe is pretty retro, with the coffee machine reminding me of the 70s and they had really alternative ornuments hanging around!

Coffee wasn't bad although I'm not used to their mocha made with thick chocolate stuff at the bottom (which i think i was suppose to mix but didnt)

Sauteed mushrooms, grilled tomato, hallomi on turkish bread:

Salmon eggs benedict:

Prices were pretty reasonable with each dish around $13. An interesting little cafe to dine in for sure, and I'm satisfied with the brunch and company!

Tiny gingerbread men

I bought this really cute little gingerbread man cutter from the gingerbread factory and wanted to try it out. Also, my work mate has been asking me to make more cookies so I decided to make some.

Instead of tying a ribbon around it I stapled the plastic so that it wouldn't crumble.

Now im exhausted!

The ginger factory

Over the Christmas break we went to Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast. It was raining most of our time there but it did not dampen our spirit and we still had loads of fun at the water theme park and dream world!

On one of those raining days we drove one hour from Brisbane and about 25 mins away from Sunshine Coast to this Ginger Factory. It was really an experience as everything here is literally ginger!

I had a ginger overdose with this ginger scone and ginger jam, along with ginger flat white! My husband had chips and ginger aioli which he made a very disgusted facial from that and stuck to tomato sauce instead! As you can tell, he's not a ginger fan!

There were also a ice cream section with over 65 types to choose from. Many of the flavours included some kind of ginger....

The shop that was there had everything ginger from gingerbread men, gingerbread cutters, ginger nuts, jam, chocolates, nogurts, honey, tea, coffee, and the list goes on!

One of the many gingerbread men sold there:

A worthwhile trip for sure if you like ginger and if it's raining and you want to stay dry =)
